Today I woke up at 5:30 AM. Made breakfast. Packed his school bag. Dropped him off. Came back. Cleaned the house. Did the laundry. Cooked lunch. Picked him up. Helped with homework. Made evening snacks. Gave him a bath. Read him a bedtime story. Tucked him in.
And somewhere in between all of this — I forgot to eat.
Not because there was no food. But because there was no one to remind me to sit down.
My husband is a good man. I say this with full heart. But he's always at work. Always on calls. Always "almost done." And I understand — he's doing it for us. I know that.
But some days... some evenings... when my son is asleep and the house is finally quiet, I sit at the kitchen table and I just feel it — this invisible weight. Like I am holding up the entire roof of this home with my bare hands, and no one even notices the ceiling isn't falling.
Nobody asks me "Are you tired?" Nobody says "You did well today." Nobody sees the thousand small things I do just to keep this family afloat.
I am not complaining about my life. I love my son more than anything. But loving someone deeply doesn't mean you stop needing to be seen.
If there's a woman reading this who feels the same — who is doing everything, all alone, quietly, every single day — I just want you to know:
I see you. You are not invisible. And what you do every day? It is nothing short of extraordinary.
